· Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
· Rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
· Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.
· Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program; conducts exit interviews.
· Serves as the lead staff member on all employee relations issues. Provides wise council and feedback on all employee related issues; coaches managers and supervisors in handling employee issues.
· Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
· Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
· Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws; maintains appropriate employee postings, reviews documentation of employee files for alignment with federal, state and local employment laws.
· Advises managers on organizational policy matters, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
· Performs difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
· Creates and implements training programs including onboarding in conjunction with other managers.
· In conjunction with company leadership, drives and maintains company culture.
· Manages payroll function; approves ACA filings, W2 filings, and other applicable payroll filings.
· Advises Safety on proper treatment following workplace injuries and illnesses; attends workers compensation doctor’s appointments; files workers compensation claims; maintains work related injury files; acts as a liaison between the employee, the Company and the doctor when an employee is injured at work; completes workers compensation audits.
· Updates employees through monthly meetings, emails, handouts and electronic postings on any changes in HR policies, wellness initiatives, or changes in benefits.
