In this role you will:
Conduct thorough and timely investigations into allegations of violations of Vanguard policies and review and advise on other workplace concerns to ensure fair treatment of all crew members. Workplace concerns include, but are not limited to, complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and other work-related issues; recommend appropriate resolution of internal concerns.
Develop and deliver guidance and advice to the HR community and key partners (Legal, Risk, Information Security) on sensitive, complex scenarios, i.e. negotiated departures, potential of significant litigation or other implications to business/firm (e.g., PR/Crisis Communications).
Deliver a trusted Crew Relations reputation/brand known to crew and leaders as a place where their voices are heard and acted on accordingly and that issues are identified and raised in an appropriate and timely manner.
Deliver a first-class employee experience to all stakeholders and control partners through effective collaboration.
Demonstrate a growth mindset through identification of opportunities to enhance the employee experience through process improvement and refinement of services; offer potential solutions to drive greater stakeholder satisfaction and simplification of workflow.
Engage in learning and development to maintain and strengthen of employee relations expertise.
What it takes:
Demonstrated success delivering employee relations in a global, matrixed, and complex organization, while influencing stakeholders across all levels and roles in support of achieving appropriate outcomes while balancing the needs of employees and the enterprise.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree in employment law or human resources preferred. HR professional certifications preferred. (SHRM CP)
Solid understanding of US employment laws and regulations.
Experience and proven success in handling sensitive and complex employee relations matters in an effective and efficient manner. Leverage technical knowledge and business acumen to fact pattern and determine appropriate solution.
Strong analytical/fact based decision-making skills combined with the ability to think innovatively. Examines root cause and provides recommendations to management to mitigate repeated issues.
