Overview:

Veeco is hiring a Manufacturing Technician with primary responsibilities to participate in the assembling of newly manufactured systems and subsystems on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities:

• Integrate and facilitate the build of complex systems to prepare for functional testing
• Disassemble complex functioning systems in preparation for delivery to customers
• Assist Manufacturing Engineers with:
  • Troubleshoot testing activity discrepancies
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Assembly Test Technicians to resolve and close issues
  • Identify and provide improvements of assembly methods for existing products and collaborate with Engineering to develop assembly methodologies for new products/components
  • Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications:

Must have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting complex systems. An Associate’s degree in technical engineering, or a technical field service background is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of hardware, software, and control systems – Analog / D-Net is preferred
• Experience with semiconductor hardware/practices and manufacturing is preferred
• SAP skills that range from simple inquiries to complex reports and transactions (MM, PP modules) is preferred
• Ability to perform statistical data analysis
• Aptitude for identifying and resolving recurring problems
• Interpersonal skills to interface with assembly technicians, engineering, management, customers, sales and marketing
