Position Summary
With limited supervision, the HR Compliance Specialist ensures internal company compliance with HR
employment federal, state, and local laws. Serve as the subject matter expert in HR compliance to assist our Vensure internal HR department with employment law compliance inquiries and needs. Perform a variety of analytical, evaluative, interpretive or advisory duties to ensure compliance and collaborate with our HR Compliance team to also assist client-facing departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Research and review federal and state laws and precedent cases to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and to assist with best practices that will assist Internal HR to ensure compliance, as well as other departments.
Collaborate with internal teams to review and communicate various human resources policies, procedures, best practices and federal, state, and local regulations.
Ensure Employee Handbook and any other policies, forms, and templates are compliant with each state and necessary updates are processed efficiently.
Ensure federal and state resource materials, included, but not limited to such documents as charts, checklists, forms, policies, letters, official statutes, and more, are accurate, updated, organized, and available to internal teams.
Ensure compliance and consistency on all pre-hire and on-boarding requirements.
Collaborate with HR Compliance team members to research and prepare Legal HR compliance communications to provide to Internal HR. Be fully accountable for the accuracy and quality control of all communications.
Continue to develop increased knowledge of resources and content relative to federal, state, and local laws
Compile necessary data and prepare for submittal and filing of required federal, state, and local reporting (e.g. EEO-1 reporting; CA pay data reporting; BLS; OER; etc.).
Provide continuous improvement recommendations to HR leadership to ensure documents, processes and proceduresare up-to-date with laws and manage liability to mitigate risk.
Build, maintain, and promote relationships with team members, peers across disciplines, and all other company team members ensuring effective coordination of communications and services affecting internal staff and clients.
Attend webinars, seminars, and other trainings to stay-up-to-date on laws and best practices.
Complete numerous projects for Internal HR and the Compliance department and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education & Experience
BA degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent work experience is required.
Minimum of three years of related Human Resources/HR Compliance experience required (5 years preferred).
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability
to learn other applications as needed.
Experience with the following systems is helpful (Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, PrismHR)
