Summary:
As the Director of Managed Telecom Services you will work within a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial environment supporting new customer opportunities and drive delivery across the organization, oversee a product portfolio of telecom service engagements and have a direct leadership responsibility on designated contracts. You will lead a team of provisioning and network engineers that work with small to large scale carriers, MSPs, and enterprise customers. You will be accountable for overall management, planning, delivery and ongoing customer support to ensure client satisfaction. This role will provide recommendations for proposal improvement and contracting as well as areas for process optimization and automation.
You will create and evaluate your team’s performance metrics and analyzes results within business units to determine if organizational objectives are being met and recommend and implement solutions to increase efficiency.
Responsibilities:
· Be the Telecom Services subject matter expert on all opportunities.
· Provide strategic direction to enhance telecom services product portfolio.
· Deliver and support contracted solutions at the agreed terms, pricing, schedule and quality customer experience.
· Manage escalations and resolutions internally and with our customers.
· Address any misalignments and adjust to meet/exceed customer expectations and improve internal process and automation to become more efficient.
· Participate in sales opportunities, driving the telecom services solution and deal shaping process that will help create business value for our customers.
Manages teams that are responsible for the timely execution of project deliverables to support the order, delivery and activation of advanced network services for a portfolio of clients. Provides leadership and guidance in developing telecom service delivery solutions and mentoring teams to deliver the solutions. Provides input and recommendations into the systems and tools necessary to support the service delivery teams. Prioritizes conflicting information system issues and communicates to associates and senior management. Provides regular project performance reporting to ensure the operations run smoothly.
Implements and manage processes to effectively deliver the managed services. Is very knowledgeable of time on task methodologies.
Analyzes forecasts, capabilities, and costs to establish plans and procedures on how the service will run on a day-to-day basis. Implements solutions to meet growing capacity requirements while ensuring reliability within the network. Moderates the development of back-up routing plans on network to alleviate congestion, handle failures, and accommodate demand. Conducts studies of network systems operations and recommends changes and improvements as necessary. Ensures all network designs and configurations are documented.
Ensures the efficient and timely resolution of issues that other tiers of support have escalated/transferred and/or incidents directly assigned to team. Prepares and interprets reporting on incident and project resolution times and effectiveness.
Stays knowledgeable of emerging trends and industry practices. Guides development and ensures compliance with Network and IT standards, policies, and guidelines.
Provides sales support for operational scoping and time on task estimates to support new projects.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, IT/Engineering related field
Supervisory Experience:
10+ yrs. Minimum
Certifications:
CNNP, CCIE, Cloud Certifications, a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Advanced knowledge with the network and telecommunications services including traditional telecom services, advanced telecom services, SD-WAN services and VOIP services.
Subject matter expert on end to end performance monitoring.
Advanced experience working with networking products; multitasking, problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
Subject matter expertise in the following: cloud services, firewalls, VPNs, LAN, MAN, WAN, TCP/IP protocols, routers, switches, and gateways.
Experience managing telecommunications engineering team(s).
Experience in leading cross-functional teams to deliver important business outcomes.
Advanced data and analytical skills
Strategic leadership skills with strong execution mindset and a vision to evolve the services and support platforms.
