The Project Manager I provides support to customers, clients, vendors, and other related operational support to client projects throughout all phases of project management (initiation through closing). He or she must have a combination of skills including conflict resolution, influencing, leadership, decision making, and emotional intelligence.
Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time, within scope, and within budget as appropriate. This includes contacting resources and coordinating efforts of team members as well as third party contractors or consultants. Sets deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Responsible for overseeing quality control throughout the project’s life cycle. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project. The Project Manager I will have technical savvy in order to communicate effectively and professionally with the clients, customer, field technicians, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the Project Manager I is responsibility to define process, identify gaps, mitigate risks and recommend improvements.
The Project Manager I is required to hold Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, and the ability to fulfill the CAPM Maintenance requirements, which involves re-testing every 3 years.
The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. Once obtained, this certification must be retained through the completion of required PDU in a timely manner.
