This position physically reports to our Henrico central office.Effective July 5, 2022, in accordance with the Governor of Virginia and pre-pandemic policies, Virginia State Employees will return to the physical workplace. Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource administration including federal and state laws, regulations, and policies, particularly those related to employment, state records retention and performance management.
Demonstrated ability to supervise or lead/guide the work of others; to manage and coordinate comprehensive program details, to conduct research, analyze data and apply results; to communicate effectively to employees at all levels; to instruct adults, including preparing instructional plans and supporting methods and materials.
Comprehensive knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles, practices, and theories of human resource management and the laws, policies, and procedures governing their application. Experience in project management and program development.
Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, analytical, computer (word processing, spreadsheet, and database management) and organizational skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and to work independently.
Ability to collect, analyze, and distribute data, prepare findings and recommendations, and manage related databases and files.
A degree in human resources, public administration or related field and/or equivalent experience, training, and knowledge of performance management policies and procedures.Certification in human resource management (e.g., Professional in Human Resources, and SHRM-CP).
Experience using state automated systems (e.g., Cardinal and/or PMIS) and Microsoft Office Professional (Access, Word, Excel and Access). Working knowledge of the state Learning Center a plus.
