The Manager, Marketing Media Collaborations will be responsible for supporting the marketing team at Virtuoso by planning, packaging, negotiating, and tracking media placements as well as establishing and managing a co-op marketing program for partners and members. The Manager, Marketing Media Collaborations will be required to create a systematic, process-driven approach to outreach and relationship management across media channels and with the network. This role is responsible for the project management of direct Virtuoso brand media placements as well as managing co-op initiatives with partners and developing tool kits for members/travel advisors. There will be a strong focus on building and maintaining multi-branded partnerships and activations for traditional and new media such as digital partnerships.
The manager will research media partners, identify key players, generate interest, manage contracts and agreements, and negotiate and finalize deals in accordance with Virtuoso’s contract guidelines and policies. The manager will project manage end-to-end delivery, ensuring campaigns run smoothly on time, on budget and deliver agreed KPIs. The ideal candidate will have media management and marketing experience plus a background in developing strategic relationships and collaborations.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Works directly with media companies to negotiate the best rates and placements for paid advertising. Also works to secure value adds.
- Support the development of brand collaborations working across teams and negotiate win-win terms based on desired outcomes.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Marketing Strategy teams to package co-op media campaigns for sale and distribution.
- Work across divisions with a focus on leveraging other brand relationships to further build value for the Virtuoso brand globally.
- This role works with each regional team on media plans/buys to provide a global view of all activities around the world focused on increasing brand value and driving High Value Travelers.
- Stay up to date with industry trends in media consumption habits to ensure advertising strategies remain relevant and effective.
- Analyze market research to identify target audiences and determine the most effective media channels for reaching them.
- Proactively explore and source potential news media partnership opportunities with major media platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help guide strategies and programs with internal and external teams for media and brand campaign opportunities.
- Responsible for deal negotiations, agreements and onboarding of new media partners and manage existing partners.
- Skillful and respectful negotiator with excellent client management competence, able to obtain incremental results from stakeholders while developing those relationships.
Educational and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
- 6+ years of related work experience in sales & marketing role with special emphasis on hotel category
- 5-7 years’ experience working in media field
- Strong commercial understanding of hotel business
- Strong understanding of the media markets internationally
- Proven success in delivering successful branded content partnerships with traditional and digital media
- Wide-reaching and strong knowledge in partnerships and sponsorships
- Strong relationships with media partners
- Strong creative, project management, task delivery skills
- Excellent detail-orientation, organizational and time management skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, persuasive and negotiation skills
- Minimum of BA/BS in Marketing, Communication, or similar relevant field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- PowerPoint/presentation writing skills essential
- Understanding of CRM/segmentation and application of targeting data
- Strong marketing analytical skills
- Excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills

Travel Requirements:
- Travel may be required to attend company events and partner meetings (3-5 trips per year).
- Travel will be mostly domestic with some international travel.

- External: Contact with Virtuoso members, partners, and outside vendors.
