Volvo Group Operations Graduate Program
If you are up for the challenge of developing the next generation of production plants and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!
During 15 intense and exciting months, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group’s global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations.
In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several “on-the-job” rotations and have the opportunity to work on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

Our organization:
The New River Valley (NRV)-Plant located in Southwest Virginia is the largest plant in the Volvo Group, comprising of 2 million square feet under roof, on 566 acres with 3000+ employees working on site. This plant is the sole factory producing the Volvo Truck brand in North America and serves as the painted part supplier for our sister Mack truck plant in Pennsylvania. Major investments are being allocated to this site for plant upgrades to be able to support increasing demand for the product and the new technologies in product and process that are leading the industry. This operation has a very bright future!

Job Description:
You will support the Logistics Engineering Manager to further the knowledge and skills of the team. In this role, you will interact with logistic engineers, manufacturing engineers, production and logistics operators, external warehouses, Quality and Safety. You will work on cross functional continuous improvement projects to make our internal logistics processes better and more efficient.
Your contributions towards continuous improvement will have a direct link to preparing our facility for the launch of new, exciting, state-of-the-art products. Volvo Group is at the forefront of the market when it comes to the advanced technology in the product we offer.

You have comfort working at a detailed level and manipulating data to tell a story. You clearly communicate your ideas around complex topics and listen carefully to others before jumping to conclusions. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, with several tasks in progress at the same time requiring quick action, while being able to plan and manage your time towards mid- and longer-term projects.
