Leads activities with internal stakeholders: logistics operations, manufacturing, finance, and engineering departments and develop bid specifications, identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, prepare bid-recaps, and make sourcing recommendations. You will successfully work independently and as part of a team to source/secure customer orders and procure qualified carriers to transport freight in a timely manner while maximizing margins, developing relationships, and minimizing risks.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Works with Logistics manager to create and develop carrier set-up & compliance procedures & guidelines.
· Collaborates with Shipping and receiving team to dispatch drivers with a high-level of detail and input all pertinent driver/shipment details into the SAP/BM system and continue monitoring, communicating and updating the system until the completion.
· Provides updates to internal and external customers on shipment status.
· Update/enter customer and carrier profiles in the SAP / Batch master.
· Route, enter, and schedule (or reschedule) customer load tenders and related administrative duties with accuracy and efficiency.
· Source (new and existing) carriers to build a pipeline/network for supporting VPET customers and to pre-plan the use of carrier equipment for efficiency.
· Aggressive rate negotiations with carrier partners to hit target booking prices.
· Be a problem-solver and solutions-provider to all customers, carriers, and VPET internal customers.
· Provide back-up support as needed to other department team members to ensure customer and carrier satisfaction.
· Prepares reports and updates Logistics KPI’s for Tier II management meeting.
· Other tasks as assigned by Management team.

· Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
· Adapt to new processes, products, and technologies as required. Learn and understand our products and technology at a level sufficiently high enough to efficiently identify and route requests for assistance to the proper division department or individual.
· Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, multi-discipline environment.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, identifies and addresses problems and meets deadlines.
· Identify and resolve problems on time, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and maintains confidentiality.
· Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
· High level of attention to detail, and process-driven to balance timeliness and quality of service. Metrics for quality and efficiency will be developed and maintained.
· Computer skills: Intermediate knowledge and experience in computer office programs of Word, Excel and Outlook are requirements for this job.

Education/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree and at least 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
· 10+ years of experience in a similar role or a combination of experience and education will be considered.
· Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
· Consulting experience is a bonus
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
· Experience in the plastic bottle industry or in a manufacturing environment preferred.
