The Wake County Child Support Office is the second largest urban Child Support Services program in the state. The Child Support Services Training team provides instruction in the areas of case initiation, paternity and support establishment, order enforcement and modification, intergovernmental case processing; including Court related supports to the IV-D Assistant County Attorneys.
We are seeking a Child Support Services Training Supervisor who is a strong leader, well organized and innovative, to supervise the activities of a dynamic training team. The position reports directly to the Child Support Services, Assistant Division Director.
Duties may include:
Leading the development, design, and implementation of a unified, systematic training program for all new staff based upon position
Providing for continual staff development and the cultivation of a “High Performing Work Team”; serving as the policy expert and policy consultant; implementing continuous improvement activities, and assuming and promoting responsibility for self-learning; implementing a trainer certification program
Utilizing both the state and related child support systems Case Management system and databases; and Wake County’s electronic document management systems
Ensuring the completion of QA reviews to ensure the transfer of learning; suggesting changes to correct deficiencies and errors; and leading agency-wide training initiatives as necessary, or required by Child Support Services Leadership; providing progress of new and existing staff

About Our Team
The Wake County Child Support Office is the second largest urban Child Support Services program in the state. The Office provides services to custodians of minor children by locating non-custodial parents; establishing paternity and cash and medical support obligations; enforcing and modifying support orders; and collecting and distributing child support payments. The legal, court, and financial related duties of the Child Support Program require a high degree of knowledge, ability to craft solutions that are within policies, rules, and laws governing the Child Support Program.
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
Bachelor’s degree
Three years of job-related experience
Equivalent education and experience are accepted
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Six (6) or more years of direct Child Support Program experience, two (2) of which were in a supervisory role
Strong leadership skills, supervisory skills, and well versed in HR Policies
Considerable working knowledge of child support program policy, tools, processes, rules and regulations

Knowledge of leadership/management/organizational development, assessment protocols, change management strategies, and processes
Considerable knowledge of the Child Support Program, policies, local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations governing the Program, related legal procedures, and judicial operations
Effective presentation and group facilitation skills; strong interpersonal/human relations skills; analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills – no exceptions
Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, and to organize and prioritize duties
Ability to operate a personal computer and use various software, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint
