The Financial Accountant for Walraven is primary responsible for an adequate and timely preparation, collection and processing of financial data for internal financial reporting and mandatory external financial reports. Further responsibilities are supporting in the budget and forecast process, engaging in cost reduction analysis, preparing cash flows projections , setup and calculate production cost prices, calculate ROI for investment proposals and reviewing operational performance. The Financial Accountant reports to the Managing Director.

The goal of the Financial Accountant is to execute and optimize Walraven’s financial structure, in order to reassure healthy and optimized cash-flows.

Working Areas and Expected Results

Finance Processes

The Financial Accountant has to execute and control all financial activities, in order to provide financial reports and setup financial information to managerial staff. He/she prepares financial analysis on investment activities.

Accounting

• Executing monthly and periodic financial statements

• Preparation of company reports and documents for tax return in cooperation with internal and external tax specialists.

• Manage accounts payable function; Accurate and correct processing of invoices from both trade payables as intercompany invoices.

• Manage general ledger accounting; complete and timely processing of all postings resulting in an accurate P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow.

• Cash management; Optimize cashflow and cash forecast reporting.

Controlling

• Control the cost and revenue budget.

• Actively follow up on deviations and strive for corrective measures.

• Support local management with the set-up of business cases.

• Actively manage working capital and cash flow in line with group regulations.

• Support in the regional budget and forecasting process.

• Manage CAPEX.

Risk management

• Ensure the company processes are in line with the Walraven Group Accounting Manual and local requirements.

• Manage the companies insurance portfolio in line group requirements.

• Actively manage the companies accounts receivable position (new customer enrolment, regular review credit limits overdue positions, credit insurance, bad debt provision, customer exposure etc).

Reporting

• Provide both Walraven Group and Local Management with timely and accurate monthly reporting.

• Ensure proper filing of specifications and documentation.

• Manage interim and year end audits and serve a first point of contact (liaison) for external and internal audits.

Tax

• Timely and accurate VAT and CIT filings in line with local requirements.

• Reconciliation between tax position local GAAP and Dutch GAAP (Group Reporting standard).

• Manage tax audits.

Manufacturing & Sales Execution

• The Financial Accountant is responsible for financial data related to cost pricing to be processed in the financial (ERP) system.

• Calculate actual manufacturing cost prices and analysis for product costing (man hours, machine costing rates etc).

• The Financial Accountant critically assesses the yearly (sales) forecasts, so he/she is able to work with a realistic income budget.

• The Financial Accountant actively supports (commercial) functions with indepth analyses of sales achievements versus budget, forecasts and/or last year.

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics

• Proven experience as a Financial Accountant (type of company, complexity)

• Excellent knowledge of finance and control

• User experience and knowledge of ERP and finance systems

• Good knowledge of organizational and company procedures

• Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.

• Fluent in English (verbal and written).

• Excellent analytical skills and numerical and mathematical insight.

• Excellent communicative skills.
