GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Responsible for the day-to-day general ledger transactions; audit data collection and miscellaneous cash deposits. Assists in the preparation of local, state and federal reporting. Support all departments relative to account coding and general accounting requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The ability to make accurate tabulations and computations; the ability to readily understand and carry out directions, both oral and written; reasonable speed and accuracy in and keyboarding; must be able to meet or exceed minimum standards set in regards to applicant testing; the ability to communicate orally with staff and the public; should be familiar with office equipment including, but not limited to: word processor, computer, calculator telephone, photocopier and familiarity with applicable software applications, specifically those involving spreadsheets and statistical programs, preferred, but not required; the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in written form; the ability to handle confidential data and material with utmost discretion; the ability to develop an effective working relationship with staff, other departments and the public; the ability to work independently and resolve problems in the absence of the Director of Finance; fund accounting experience desirable; prefer experience in computers and the ability to perform duties with an awareness of school department requirements and policies.
EDUCATION:
Such as may be gained through graduation from a senior high school or equivalent (GED) in addition to graduation from a four year college with a degree in business or equivalent combination of education and experience. Several years business experience as an accountant or in-charge bookkeeper required.
