Our Office of Equity, Performance, and Accountability (OEPA) is currently recruiting for a strategic and tactical thinker with the ability to define the purpose, authority, and responsibility of the Internal Audit program for the agency to join their team as the Internal Audit Manager.Internal Audit provides Independent and objective analysis, recommendation, and counsel through professional audit and advisory services to enhance the organization’s effectiveness and ethical stewardship culture. They support executive management and senior leadership through these services by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance across the agency.
Adhering to the IIA Standards and Code of Ethics, you will ensure the Internal Audit function provides professional independent and objective audit, investigatory, and consulting services. It is through these services that you and your team will support executive and senior leadership in fulfilling the department’s objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance. Utilizing your strong communication skills, you will be DOL’s liaison to external auditors and act on its behalf through collaboration and mediation. You will administer all aspects of a professional and comprehensive agency wide Internal Audit Program. Your leadership skills will be key to your success in this role as you will manage, assign, and oversee the work of advanced skilled professionals in carrying out this plan. As the agency’s subject matter expert, you will advise and train on internal controls, policies, compliance matters, ethics laws, Whistleblower Act, Information Systems, and security issues, and related leading or best practices.
