Washington State University Hiring for Assistant Director of Residence Life at Pullman, WA Full Time

Washington State University is searching for an Assistant Director of Residence Life who is committed to making a positive impact in the
lives of both our student and professional staff members! We care for and are invested in the development of young professionals, and
provide a collaborative and vibrant departmental culture. As part of the central staff team, this live-off staff member will report to the
Director of Housing & Residence Life.

The Assistant Director’s primary responsibilities include:

• Supervise, develop, and evaluate 4-6 Masters-level Residential Education Directors.
• Coordinate the planning and presentation of
  staff training initiatives.
• Administer and track student conduct through the RED staff.
• Facilitate and recruit for
  developing learning communities’ program.
• Chair and/or advise an average of 2-3 departmental committees/task forces
  (appointed annually)
• Organize assessment and evaluation processes
• Serve as departmental liaison with designated university
  partners.
• Respond to daily administrative tasks and student/staff concerns.
• Assume departmental responsibilities as
  directed.

Requirements:

Minimum/Required Qualifications: Position requires a Masters degree in a relevant field and four (4) academic years of
progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least one (1) year of managerial experience. Education and experience
can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment. Positions may require applicable licensure and/or
certification.

Preferred qualifications:

• Supervisory experience of graduate hall directors,
  paraprofessional staff, or other personnel.
• Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and practice of participatory management and
  community standards.
• Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Windows and MS-Office computer software.
• Two years
  post-master’s experience working in a college or university residence hall system or group living environment.
• Supervisory
  experience of full-time live-in residence hall staff.
• Demonstrated experience in staff training and development.
• Experience with creating and delivering large group presentations.
• Knowledge and experience with living, learning
  communities/academic success programs.
• Previous experience working with faculty
• Demonstrated experience working as a
  pro-active community builder and change agent for Diversity and Social Justice.

Remuneration:

12-month
position with a salary of $5,125.75/month, Benefits include vacation and sick leave; health, dental, life insurance; TIAA/CREF retirement
plan; 6-credit tuition waiver per semester; professional development funds may also be available upon approval.
