Job Summary

Coordinate all areas of the music therapy program under the supervision of the Dean of the Winters
School of Music. Primary responsibility is the educating, clinical training and internship placement of all music therapy undergraduate
students and equivalency students. Assisting students with obtaining their board certification prior to graduation.

Duties and
Responsibilities

• Insure AMTA requirements for all clinical training are met
• Insure AMTA
  requirements for all education curriculum needs are met
• Supervising clinical training for practica
• Maintaining current and
  updated practice and techniques
• Recruitment and expanding the program
• Maintain good standing with AMTA
• Seek and
  secure additional community placements for practica
• Advise and guide students to find their preferred population
• Assist
  with guitar skills, vocal skills and overall musicality
• Teach music therapy techniques specific to populations served
• Assist with internship placement
• Assist with successful examination of the certification test
• Advocate for the field
  of music therapy
• Assist with job attainment
• Other Duties as assigned by the Dean of the School of Music

Required Qualifications

• Masters degree in Music Therapy, or related area with 12 graduate
  credits in music therapy
• At least 3 years full-time clinical experience in music therapy or equivalent in part-time work
• Board Certified MT-BC
• Written testimony to a personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to a biblical worldview and code
  of conduct that exemplifies the mission of William Carey University.

Preferred Qualifications

• Member of AMTA
• Terminal Degree in Music
• Collegiate Teaching Experience
