Wingate University’s Department of Psychology seeks to hire a new colleague to start in August 2023. The position is full-time
and tenure track.
Job Summary: Wingate University’s Department of Psychology seeks a candidate with
strong interest and ability in undergraduate teaching for a full-time, tenure track position at the level of an Assistant Professor.
Our Psychology major consists of four tracks (Developmental, Social/Applied, Clinical/Counseling, and Cognitive). While the area of
specialization is open, high priority will be given to those who can teach courses in the Clinical/Counseling or Cognitive tracks. Course
needs in the Clinical/Counseling track include Psychotherapy and Psychological Assessment. Course needs in the Cognitive track include
Cognitive Psychology, Sensation and Perception, Physiological Psychology, and Learning and Memory. Experience and/or interest in teaching
General Psychology is also preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to balance excellence in teaching 4 courses (12
credit hours) per semester with research and service engagement.
Service responsibilities will include student advising and
mentoring, departmental service, and committee service under Wingate University’s shared governance structure. A commitment to
excellence in undergraduate teaching and evidence of scholarly potential is also preferred. We strongly encourage applications from women,
