Reporting to the CEO, the Deputy Chief Academic Officer (DCAO) oversees the Workshops for Warriors (WFW) educational program and serves on the WFW executive cabinet. The DCAO directly oversees the Education Division:
The DCAO is the leader of the academic programs for the school and works to evaluate instructional programs that engage all students in learning to meet their academic and career goals, ensure that WFW provides the best academic experience possible, while meeting long-term financial goals.
Effective academic leadership helps students achieve their dreams and can help WFW deliver a consistent, well-rounded academic experience. The DCAO by playing this key role in meeting the outlined goals will be instrumental in shaping the next generation’s minds and skills every semester.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The DCAO develops curricula, sets academic standards, and works with faculty and staff to ensure standards are met, while leading in the design of ways to engage students in and out of the classroom. Additionally, will ensure that each program’s academic strategies comply with accreditation, while seeking new programs and accreditations.
In addition to overseeing WFW’s academics the DCAO financial responsibilities include setting budgets, ensuring the recruitment and enrollment staff meet or exceed enrollment targets, housing services and career services by collaborating with the CFO. Similarly, collaborating with the operations’ department will ensure that the facility meet the physical needs such as safety, cleanliness, technology, and environmental needs by functioning at above average quality at all times.
Faculty and staff are a key component to the success of the programs offered by WFW. Leading and developing the Education Division’s personnel include the designing and implementing long-term performance and succession goals, and innovative development opportunities.
The DCAO’s duties center on providing students and staff with an optimal experience. They can not only impact students already on campus but also help attract future students; they not only impact current team members but attract future team members. Ultimately, the DCAO personally and through the Education Division staff ensure WFW provide a high-quality, equitable, valuable experiences, ready to help shape the minds of students and employees eager to follow their career dreams.

Responsible for a full range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence of the Education Division of WFW. An effective DCAO needs to possess strong leadership skills. These skills help an individual provide decisive guidance to faculty and other department leaders. This guidance can ultimately lead WFW’s ability to help students succeed.
Strong analytical skills are also fundamental. The DCAO needs to monitor how cultural and socioeconomic changes may impact the academic process and develop effective student recruitment and retainment strategies in response.

Position Details: This is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position (40+ hours/week).
Pay: The annual rate of pay range for this California-based position is $115,000-$150,000.00. The actual compensation offer, and opportunity may not include incentive compensation or other total rewards available.
Benefits and Perks: Workshops for Warriors makes available comprehensive benefits after 30 days of employment. Options include Medical (50% employer contribution), dental and vision coverage (100% employer contribution), a 401k program with employer match, 8 paid holidays, Flexible work hours (position dependent), and paid time off.
Dress code: Our office staff works in a business casual or relaxed business casual environment.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to push, move, lift or otherwise bear 10-30lbs. Applications may include but are not limited to repetitive work using a computer keyboard, mouse and headphones while sitting and/or standing at an assigned work desk area.
Work Environment: The employee works in an office/administration building in an urban industrial neighborhood. Other areas within the school are mixed use such as classrooms, welding and machining areas.
Employee may have additional environmental hazards such as: chemical, electrical, flammable, or mechanical in nature.
