Over recent years Xero has grown at an incredible pace… and we’re not slowing down! As we face into the next phase of our journey it is critical that we start to create systems, tools and processes that help us to scale in all countries in a sustainable way that supports this rapid acceleration.
The role of VP, Operations will back up our regional Country Manager and will provide the day to day operational expertise to make sure the US region performs at its peak. They will develop clear operational plans aligned with global strategy, manage all in-region strategic initiatives and ensure cross-functional alignment across the regional leadership team. Most importantly, this role will ensure we achieve our 1-2 year performance objectives in each region, and will form the clear conduit between global Operations, systems and tools and regional execution. This role also provides leadership and coordination across the regional leadership team.
You will make an impact by activating global and local strategy in region and ensuring we “hit our numbers” for each financial period. You will also form part of the global Operations leadership team and will be the primary conduit through which we align strategy and execution.
What you’ll do
- Participate in the development of regional strategy
- Collaborate with the regional leadership teams to drive all regional plans (1 -2 year cycles)
- Manage all strategic initiatives and projects in-region.
- Ensure our regional teams are clear on “where to play” and “how to win” – work with our global strategy team to agree the right targets for the region and clearly activate
- Collaborate with Finance to monitor all financial and performance lead and lag indicators to ensure ongoing success
- Coordinate a cross-functional monthly Quarterly Business Review and refine our plans accordingly
- Participate as part of the Global Customer Operations leadership team
- Actively bring all parts of Xero together to amplify our performance in-region.
- Provide indirect leadership of all functions, supporting the Country Manager to align and coordinate the regional leadership team.
- You will be a master collaborator, bringing the regional and global organization of Xero together.

- 10+ years of experience in an operational or commercial role
- Appropriate tertiary education
- Extensive experience and comfort managing several concurrent projects of varying structures and types
- Exposure to a product led environment
- Deep understanding of the SaaS and/or accounting and professional service industry, preferred
- Demonstrated direct team leadership experience and indirect team leadership of cross-functional resources
- Demonstrated success in past roles helping companies make and execute choices that led to winning in their chosen domain
- Proven ability to collaborate locally and globally
