Job Brief

In charge of weekly freight payment to include auditing and reconciliation. Report carrier KPI’s and billing abnormalities to department supervisor and manager. Identify trends and recommend best practices for domestic transportation.

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Transportation Analyst to join our Logistics team in Cypress, CA. The Transportation Analyst is in charge of weekly freight payment to include auditing and reconciliation. Report carrier KPI’s and billing abnormalities to department supervisor and manager. Identify trends and recommend best practices for domestic transportation. Identify areas of opportunity to decrease costs.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Weekly freight payment (check run). Timely payment to carriers, auditing, and reconciliation.
• Report and present individual transportation carrier KPI’s – billing issues, freight claims, on time deliveries, missed appointments, etc…
• Utilize TMS and SAP system for reporting and monitoring transportation performance. Transportation carrier contract entry and maintenance in TMS system.
• Provide analytical support and project management in the completion of various Logistics projects.
• Maintain and organize weekly BOL submissions from transportation carriers.
• Assist transportation supervisor and manager with annual carrier RFP presentations and negotiations.
• Assist with arrangements for warranty returns and reverse logistics with the warranty department.
• Involvement with vendor routing guides and inbound parts shipments
• Weekly fuel surcharge maintenance and notification
• Backup Transportation Coordinators as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma required.
• BA/BS in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience in transportation/logistics required.
• Some auditing/finance experience preferred.
• Must have strong understanding of transportation and logistics industry.
• Attention to detail and good quantitative skills are required.
• Experience with network analysis is highly desirable.
• Strong experience and TMS knowledge a plus.
• Must be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).

Reports to: Domestic Operations Manager.
