The YMCA of Greater Long Beach has six branches, one resident Camp(located in Big Bear), numerous pre-school day care centers and after school facilities. The HR function provides support to all these locations. Building authentic relationships, enhancing individual and team performance in support the Y’s work and effectively communicating with the various stakeholders is important. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a dedication to their own enhancement of capabilities through the continual expansion of knowledge and skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Benefit Administration – Ensure new employee enrollment is processed into the system in a timely fashion. Audit and reconcile carrier invoices. Maintain accurate records of the employee retirement plan. Manage the Open Enrollment process.
Leave of Absence Management – Review and administer LOA program. Provide proper documentation and information to employees on LOA. Monitor return to work and engage in interactive process when needed.
HRIS System – Primary administrator of HR Information System and payroll backup for Ceridian DayForce.
Workers Comp. – Maintain all records, manage claims process and coordinate claims reviews.
Risk Management and Safety – Apply OSHA safety standards and record keeping including OSHA -300 logs.
Compensation – Engage in compensation analysis projects and provide proper data from system. Manage paygrades and jobs in system.

ASSOCIATION INFORMATION
The YMCA of Greater Long Beach is a $24M+ organization with 600+ employees. We have six branches, one resident camp located in Big Bear, CA, a state funded Early Childhood Education (ECE) program with 7 preschools, Over twenty-five after school programs located in schools across the cities we service, a Community Development Branch in Downtown Long Beach operating the Youth Institute, Change Agent Productions, and the Cambodia Project.
The association uses Ceridian’s Dayforce HCM system for Payroll and Benefit Management. Employees currently utilize DayForce for time and attendance.
PREFERRED CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES
Education & Certifications: A College Degree in a related field ( Business Administration with an emphasis in HR, Psychology, etc.) is strongly preferred; SHRM certification preferred. YMCA Team Leader certification within three years of being hired.
Experience & Background: 3+ years of related experience. Strong understanding of HRIS office systems, and familiar with payroll procedures. Audit experience, benefit reconciliations, and internal controls. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to exercise effective and independent judgement. Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office product skills.

Criminal Clearance: Including Fingerprints and background clearance
Cleared: Physical Exam, TB test, Drug test
Complete Online required online trainings
