York Preparatory School Hiring for Leave Replacement Teacher – Upper School Science Job at New York, NY Full Time

York Prep has an opening for a Leave Replacement Upper School Science Teacher (January – March). The teacher is responsible for four sections of Upper School Science (Chemistry, Epidemiology, AP Bio).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
• Two or more years of classroom teaching experience strongly preferred
• Experience differentiating instruction and working with students with learning differences strongly preferred
• Comfortable with educational technology

Responsibilities

• Use the materials and curriculum provided by the classroom teacher to achieve learning goals
• Supplement pre-created materials with some content of your own.
• Collaborate with the science department around curriculum, instruction, and assessment
• Attend and participate in department meetings and professional development programs
• Work collaboratively and cooperatively with faculty, staff, administration, and parents
• Use the school’s learning management system, Canvas, to grade and assign classwork and homework

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $1,200.00 – $1,600.00 per week
