Job Summary:

Primary responsible for: developing and executing downstream marketing activities in support of the product line. While this position will participate in the new product development process and contribute to design inputs and validation of design outputs, the principal contributions will be in the form of commercial launch activities and post-launch marketing activities to drive adoption and growth of the products.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• In conjunction with Product Marketing Director and Manager of Marketing Communications develop and execute integrated marketing plans to support new product launches and drive sales of existing products. Support materials can include but not be limited to ads, brochures, flyers, direct mail, package stuffers, website content, e-mail blasts, technique manuals, ordering guides, instructional videos, animations, social media content, and advertisements.
• Participate in New Product Development (NPD) teams and work closely with the Chief Clinical Officer by contributing design inputs to new product development projects, helping to validate designs by organizing marketing evaluations of new products, and preparing forecasts, launch plans and activities to support cross-functional NPD teams.
• Lead internal cross-functional teams for the development and launch of private-label product offerings to expand the Zest product portfolio. Responsibilities include working with supplier and internal teams to finalize new contracts and supplier quality requirements. Work closely with internal teams (e.g. Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Regulatory) to create and finalize product specifications, packaging, and labeling.
• Generate post-market surveillance studies on newer products to ensure product is performing to expectations. Present this data at key Management Review Meetings. Use the outcome of such studies to suggest product improvements or line extensions.
• Support the product portfolio as required with targeted primary market research. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global market conditions and competitor information. Maintain secondary data files related to markets of interest (e.g., iData reports).
• As needed and in conjunction with Wholesale Sales & Marketing Specialists, collaborate with wholesale partners (distributors/OEMs) to maximize sales results and adoption of new products. Support wholesale channel with training webinars, contributions to quarterly newsletters, onsite meetings, and follow-up e-mail communications.
• Support the training of global customer service representatives on new and existing products. In conjunction with the Global Manager of Customer Service, develop spiffs to incentivize customer service representatives to upsell customers on new products or focused initiatives.
• Develop and help manage relationships with clinician consultants and clinical advisors. Leverage these relationships to review key marketing materials and to develop marketing content to include instructional videos, clinical case reports, and product presentations.
• Monitor, review and report on marketing initiatives and product portfolio results using objective reporting wherever possible. Support the Sr. Product Manager with content for Board of Directors meetings, executive staff meetings, and quarterly management meetings.
• Attend key industry trade shows and Zest sponsored continuing education programs as warranted. Assist key customers (OEMs/distributors) in preparing to represent Zest products at these key venues. Field travel as necessary to stay connected to clinician end users and support representatives of key dental implant manufacturer customers.
• In conjunction with the Sr. Product Manager, generate forecasts for Zest products with particular emphasis on new product build forecasts. Interface with Operations to ensure adequate inventory is available to support product launches. Participate with Engineering and Operations on Change Orders required on products.
• In conjunction with Sr. Product Manager and Wholesale Sales & Marketing Specialist, perform financial analysis and make recommendations on price increases, periodic product promotions, bundling opportunities, and tiered pricing scenarios.
• Responsible for product lifecycle management for the portfolio. Ensure marketing approach is aligned with product’s stage in the lifecycle. Make recommendations for product phase-out, line extensions, or new to world product categories for Zest.

Education, Experience, Skills, & Abilities:

• Relevant dental product and industry knowledge preferred. At minimum, some related medical device or healthcare experience is required.
• Business or marketing-related undergraduate degree is required. An MBA with general management or marketing focus is a plus.
• Experience in developing marketing strategies and executing integrated marketing tactical plans is required. Candidates should have a minimum 3-5 years of marketing experience in a medical device or healthcare related setting.
• Proven experience in developing, managing, and maintaining relationships with key customers as well as clinical champions.
• Working knowledge of relevant software applications to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity in working with an ERP system and extracting reports is a plus.
• High level product/project management skills and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously with measured progress on multiple fronts.
• Ability to analyze complex problems or situations, develop comprehensive alternatives to address the problem, and formulate a concrete recommendation with supporting rationale.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Formal presentation skills including the ability to present in front of senior management, vendors (e.g., advertising agency), clinicians, and managerial peers.
• Leadership skills and the ability to be recognized externally as the key point person for the product portfolio.
• Ability to influence and persuade others. Will participate in cross-functional teams and need to influence peers without having a direct reporting relationship to team participants.
• Ability to adapt strategies and focus as market conditions and company directives require.
• Ability to engage in a modest amount of travel – estimated at 10-15%.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, use hands and fingers, talk or hear, and smell continually. Ability to stand, walk and reach frequently. Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Close vision required to use microscope, read documents, and operate machine. Distance vision required to drive an automobile, if driving is a requirement of the job.
• Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
• Moderate noise levels as found in a light industrial environment, office environment, households with TVs and dishwashers, and driving light traffic.
