About the team

We are a team of fun and skilled accounting and finance professionals within the Controller organization who own all Revenue accounting and other miscellaneous functions of Zillow Group’s Internet, Media and Technology (IMT) business segment, as well as assist in implementation of financial and billing processes related to new products and revenue streams. We work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment and work directly with teams throughout the Finance organization (including Accounts Receivable, FP&A, Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, and Tax), as well as Analytics, Engineering, Sales, Ad Operations, Billing Applications, and Corporate Applications teams across various product lines.

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and can-do Senior Accountant to join the IMT Accounting Team! This role will be responsible for both month-end close activities and project-based work.

You Will Get To:

• Prepare supporting documentation and analysis

• Prepare higher-risk monthly revenue journal entries and reconciliations

• Deep dive into underlying data to deliver insights

• Lead investigations into and prepare flux analysis for certain product lines

• Own and operate SOX controls as necessary

• Plan and test business initiatives impacting revenue lines

• Document system and process changes

• Support internal and external audit requests

• Find opportunities to improve existing processes and work on projects to improve the speed and efficiency of the monthly revenue close

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

In Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range for this role is $70,100.00 – $111,900.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

This position requires knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, an interest in revenue accounting, and motivation to contribute to a rapidly evolving business. The ideal candidate for this position will have:

Qualifications

• BA/BS with a concentration in Finance or Accounting

• 4+ years’ experience in public accounting, mid-to-large sized tech or high-growth company

• Audit or Internal Audit experience desirable

• Experience using advanced Excel functions, with an interest and ability to work with large amounts of data

• Experience with a month-end close process preferred

• CPA, with a working knowledge of GAAP preferred

• Revenue accounting experience preferred

• Zuora (subscription billing software) experience, a plus

• Workday Financial Management experience, a plus

• Experience working with data visualization tools, a plus
