Job Overview: Insurance Assistant for the brokerage group with excellent customer service skills. Successful applicant should be a detail-oriented team player with the ability to multitask.Duties and Responsibilities:Administer all aspects of the placement process utilizing the firm’s agency management system in conjunction with Microsoft Office desktop applicationSend renewal solicitations: Send out solicitations and associated renewal applications on upcoming renewals 90 days in advanceClearing of new businessFollowing up for renewal submissions Produce Quotes/Binders: Generate Quote letters and binders as needed in IMS (Insurance Management System)Update the Quote Input Sheets and the IMS as carrier specific endorsements are added to the SiX FormAbility to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat as well as familiarity with quote letters and binders from various carriersQuote follow ups Billing: Basic billing responsibilities – invoicing through IMSCapturing data for benchmarkingHandling return premiums, extensions, corrections, cancellations, AP and RPsCorrespond with retail brokers for the collection of aged receivablesInterface with accounting for premium and revenue payments Issue Policies: Manage the issuance of policies at bindingFollowing up on any outstanding subjectivities needed to issue the policyCorrespond with underwriters on to-be manuscripted endorsements Manage Surplus Lines filing and documentation: Complete Surplus Lines Diligences per state and line of businessAssemble all necessary documentation for surplus lines filingsObtain retail broker signature for surplus lines filingInterface with accounting regarding tax filings and fees Maintain transactional files; electronic filingEducation: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Experience: 2-5 years insurance industry experience.
