Performs a variety of routine, repetitive manual tasks at a solid waste landfill not requiring the continuous performance of a mechanical or trade skill; and performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge of: common hand tools used.
Ability to: perform strenuous and routine manual work; understand and follow oral and written instructions; give directions to customers.
Health and Physical Condition Requirements: Persons seeking appointment to positions in this class must meet the health and physical condition standards deemed necessary and proper for performance of the duties.
Special Working Conditions: Work is performed outside exposed to a variety of weather conditions and outdoor elements such as: unknown dangerous conditions, unusual environmental stress, contagious infectious diseases, irritating chemicals, life-threatening situations, excessive dampness, heat, humidity, dry atmosphere, constant/excessive noise, slippery uneven walking surfaces, grease, oils, dust, dirt, fumes, smoke and gases. Work may involve rotating shifts, long or irregular work hours, working around machines with moving parts and moving objects, working on ladders or elevated surfaces.
No examination is required for this position. Lists established by this registration will be good for a period of six (6) months.
