Abaco Systems is looking for a skilled Director of Human Resources. As our Director of Human Resources you will oversee all aspects of Human Resources practices and processes. You will support business needs and ensure the proper implementation of company strategy and objectives.
The goal is to promote corporate values and enable business success through job design, recruitment, performance management, training & development, employment cycle changes, talent management, and safety management services.
Candidates must have strong collaboration skills, and be comfortable working with ambiguity in a demanding, fast paced, results oriented environment. The successful candidate will have the experience and presence to effectively handle conflicting business demands and sensitive HR issues in an ever-changing matrixed environment. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources based in the United Kingdom.
Role Responsibilities:
Maintain responsibility for a safe operating environment, acting as a health and safety advocate
Act as a consultant to management and employees regarding all aspects of the employment life cycle.
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
Develop and support diversity initiatives through talent acquisition and workforce education.
Source talent, including senior positions and contingent workers as required.
Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital
Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, concerns, or other issues
Collaborate with leadership to nurture a positive working environment
Support salary planning process – including guiding and assisting managers with relevant and timely compensation market guides whilst ensuring compliance and equity.
Manage performance evaluation and management process to drive high performance, ensuring the relevant deadlines are adhered to.
Communicate employee benefits program during annual benefit open enrollment period
Recommend and lead projects to improve HR department with new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvements in efficiency of the department.
Responsible for overseeing the submission and audit requirements for the bi-weekly payroll
Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs to support individual’s professional growth. Partner with VPHR and site leadership for the annual Leadership Development Review and develop appropriate career plans
Ensure legal compliance
Encourage communication and teamwork; proactively managing retention risk via feedback methodologies.

Skills & Competencies:
A Team Player with excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills with the competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels with customers and vendors
In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices; proactive ability to interpret and effectively implement these laws and regulations
Self-directed with a proven ability to successfully work under pressure, prioritize multiple projects whilst still meeting all critical deadlines
Ability to make good decisions, including exhibiting sound and accurate judgment; supporting and explaining reasoning for decisions; including appropriate employees and management members in decision-making process in a timely fashion, and identifying when issues should be escalated to senior management.
People-oriented and results-driven

Role Requirements:
8-10 years of HR Generalist with 5+ years of experience as HR Manager, preferably in a manufacturing environment
BS/MS degree in Human Resources or related field
