Job Summary
The Blockade Runner Beach Resort on Wrightsville Beach is looking for a Food & Beverage leader to join our team as Director of Restaurant Operations.This position oversees all food and beverage banquets and restaurant services. Ensures the highest standards of operation and products are maintained and the departments are managed in an efficient and profitable manner. The position reports to the General Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
· To have overall responsibility for standards of service, ensuring that appropriate, written standards and training are in place in the areas of guest service, presentation, and merchandising such as to ensure consistency and guest satisfaction.
· Assists as needed all phases of group meeting/banquet functions held in the hotel.
· Sets expectations and holds food and beverage restaurant and catering team accountable for demonstrating desired service behaviors.
· Ensures cash control, liquor control and inventory policies are in place and followed by all related employees.
· Ensures that regular, on-going communication occurs in all areas of food and beverage (i.e. shift meetings, culinary team) and with other affected departments.
· Solicit guest feedback and incorporate to improve future product quality and service.
· Maintain a climate that attracts, retains, and motivates top quality personnel.
· Train staff and establish an atmosphere of ownership in regard to service, cleanliness, aesthetics of outlets and products.
Requirements
· Previous management experience in a fine dining restaurant.
· Previous hotel F&B supervisory/management experience – preferred
· Mature and customer service focused personality.
· Ability to lead and guide a large staff.
· Positive interpersonal skills required.
· Working knowledge of POS systems.
· Fine dining experience a must.
· Must have open availability to work full time including nights and weekends.
· Will walk for long periods of time, possibly extended distances
· Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs.
