Scenic Fruit Company, a family owned company for over 90 years is the oldest berry processor in the Northwest. We are currently seeking an experienced industry professional to join our team as the Operations Manager. The Ops Manager will direct and coordinate Production, Logistics/IT, Maintenance, and Food Safety & Quality departments. This position works closely with the Co-Presidents and considers / analyzes the implications of proposed actions / decisions on operations of the facility.

This position is expected to perform the below essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation:

Essential Functions:

• Provide strategy, direction and focus to all operations activities.
• Work with department managers to prepare financial analysis of capital projects. Track capital projects and perform ‘return on investment’ analysis.
• Develop, train, and coach managers, supervisors & leads, establishing goals and growing management personnel. Identify training and development needs and help recognize staffing and personnel needs at all plant organizational levels.
• Work with Senior Management and Human Resources in preparing the organization for ongoing change.
• Implement, improve, and streamline processes. Lead Industry 4.0 transition.
• Establish & maintain positive & effective working relationship with the local workforce & other partners that contribute to the success of the company.
• Develop & nurture a safety first (employee & food) environment of teamwork, communication, accountability & a sense of ownership.
• Actively lead plant planning, continuous improvement, and budgeting processes. Manage related fiscal objectives, analyze, and supervise performance as it relates to budget and production expectations.
• Accountable for accurately defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling operations performance including inventory, safety, quality, food safety, on-time delivery, overtime & production costs.
• Drive effective use of ERP system (Microsoft dynamics nav 2018), supplemented with standardized & well-organized processes.
• Keep up to date on issues affecting the industry & develop strategies to address these issues.
• Flexibility of work schedule, beyond normal office hours (8am-5pm), as production and business needs fluctuate.

Secondary Functions:

• Participate in Safety Committee meetings when appropriate.
• Participate in audits when appropriate.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or another relevant field preferred.
• At least 5 years’ progressive management experience in manufacturing methods, process improvement, and quality management including through GFSI and other third-party audit requirements.
• Highly effective communicator (verbal, written, presentation) with the ability to build & sustain relationships internally with all employees, as well as with customers, vendors & the local community.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
• Must have demonstrated exposure and/or experience in the departments supervising.
• Must be hands-on.
