Your transferrable skillsets might include low voltage fiber optic/structured cable estimating, pulling, punching, terminating, and testing; telephony skills to include Session Initiated Protocol, voice, Premise Phone system installation and programming, VoIP telephone installations, and networking experience. Project management, soft skills, an excellent work ethic, and a desire to learn would contribute.
For this opportunity, you would:
· Work with the department head to ensure the timely completion of telecom projects while using a Windows-based PC and Customer Relationship (CRM) software to organize work, generate records and reports, and configure equipment.
· Conduct site surveys and meet with other department contacts to plan and coordinate telecommunications systems and service installation.
· Plan telecommunications installs by studying customer orders, plans, manuals, and technical specifications. This would include gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools, assessing the installation site, and preparing an installation diagram.
· Manage projects from start to finish inclusive of attending conference calls and monitoring carrier email threads to ensure installations are completed as designed.
· Attend webinars and training on the various solutions provided by Arcomm.
· Coordinate with complementary disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, structural, and/or environmental.
· Document system installations by labeling equipment and cables, recording configuration diagrams and specifications, and creating and storing database backups.
· Perform remote and onsite installation and support of telephone systems, VoIP, dial tone, voice circuits, data circuits, and peripherals such as hold music, and call accounting systems for business and residential customers.
· Maintain customer rapport by listening to, resolving concerns, and answering questions.
· Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations, as well as working safely by following all safety policies and procedures inclusive of maintaining a safe driving record.
Your competencies include telecommunications capabilities and an understanding of systems engineering. Attention to detail, thoroughness, good time management, the ability to learn and retain technical material with follow-through application of acquired knowledge in your day-to-day actions and responsibilities will lend to your success.
This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with an ability to work on-call as duties demand is required, yet rare for this position. The majority of time is spent in the office with approximately 25% of on-site, in-the-field time within the New England area, primarily in the State of New Hampshire with occasional travel to adjacent states.
