The Senior Human Resources (HR) Business Partner will be responsible for planning, implementing, and administering all HR programs and processes for Universal within the assigned Region. The position will serve as a point of contact for general HR related issues and questions while providing support and guidance to employees and management team in the assigned Region. The role will ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures and contribute to the broader HR organization strategies, initiatives, and overall business objectives. The individual will also play a critical part in the Region’s recruiting and onboarding efforts.
Detailed Description:
* Work closely with management and employees to build effective working relationships, improve retention, and strengthen morale
* Provide day to day performance management guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
* Manage and resolve employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations and advises on appropriate disciplinary action if applicable
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal and compliance requirements related to employment and partner with legal department as needed
* Provide HR policy and procedure guidance and interpretation to employees and management
* Make recommendations on HR policies and procedures, process improvements
* Prepare various reports and provide data to assist with the analysis of trends and metrics that will support development of develop and/or amendment of policies, processes, and programs
* Provide guidance and input on workforce planning, succession planning and other business initiatives
* Work with HR team to ensure timely processing of recruiting, onboarding, and employee life-cycle actions
* Work with the Company’s Learning & Development and Training departments to assist with delivery and compliance of periodic and annual training requirements
* May conduct pre-qualifying interviews with candidates to make informed, proper recommendations to hiring managers
* Keep Leadership and local Management abreast of issues affecting the Company, i.e. safety concerns
* Represent the Company and our values with integrity while maintaining the highest ethical and legal standards with all interactions
* Adhere to the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
* Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
* Demonstrate high level of knowledge and experience in understanding HR policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local laws affecting employment practices
* Ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor when adversity and multiple initiatives/priorities are encountered
* Ability to prepare and conduct effective presentations and written report preparation
* High level of energy needed for a fast-paced environment where multiple initiatives are happening simultaneously
* Exhibit strong organizational and critical thinking skills, high level of attention to detail
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills include the ability to speak, write and listen in a manner that clarifies issues, promotes closure, and delivers information clearly and concisely, and facilitates good decision-making with other people within and outside the Company
* Effective customer service and communication skills and ability to collaborate with other employees, customers, and third parties
* Possess advanced computer skills in Microsoft (MS) Office and working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Ability to maintain Company and employee confidentiality at all times, handles sensitive employee information, and protect Company proprietary information in an appropriate manner
* Ability to travel as needed to other offices and work sites, occasionally requiring extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area

Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources (HR), or related field of study
* 5+ years’ experience in an Employee Relations or HR Business Partner type role
* Must have and maintain valid state-issued driver’s license, be eligible to drive a Company vehicle and meet the requirements of the Company’s vehicle program, policy and/or guidelines
Preferred Qualifications:
* PHR or SHRM-CP
* Experience in the Oil & Gas industry
* Experience using Oracle cloud-based software, such as Oracle HCM
* Bilingual in English and Spanish
