Position Summary
The Medical Records Manager manages and oversees the essential functions of the Medical Records Department related to incoming and outgoing clinical records and supervises, guides, motivates, trains and evaluates the medical records staff. The Medical Records Manager will continuously oversee, update and implement departmental policies. This position preserves the security of Protected Health Information (PHI) and understands the agency’s responsibility to protect it, which requires a comprehensive understanding of HIPAA) and 42 CFR Part 2 as they relate to the disclosure of PHI with and without client consent. This position uses advanced communication and customer service skills to provide support and information to clients, clinical staff and outside entities as well as navigates, documents in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and tracks complex-stage processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency under strict deadlines, requiring excellent attention to detail.

Work is performed inside in varying temperatures. Employee may occasionally be required to push or lift up to 50 pounds. May be exposed to office supply odors or vapors. Employee is sitting, the majority of the time. Employee is also required to stand, walk, type, bend, write, read, interpret and explain complex issues and speak on the telephone.
