Front-End Developer Wanted @ ToyBurg!
ToyBurg is an online toy retailer based in central KY with proprietary software that manages every facet of its inventory, storage, pricing, and personnel. As a rapidly growing company, our desires and demands for our custom software continue to grow as well. We are looking to hire a programmer to work alongside our current programming team to extend and maintain our web-based, non-commercial application as well as design and create new software to facilitate further growth within our company.
Our warehouse campus environment and ethical culture are quite unique. We have a family-friendly office space and work environment where we laugh, play, and do life together every day. Rooted in its humble beginnings back in 2007 in our owner’s garage, our company’s core values guide and direct how we relate to each other and how we practice business. Above all else, our faith, family, and friends are our highest priorities, as well as our commitment to an incredible work ethic and an unwavering desire for excellence in all we do. On a very practical level, we enjoy lots of time off through the year to really make family time and community possible. Each day at work we provide lunch, where we share meals together. We spend time together outside of the office and we love to celebrate the milestones in each other’s lives, whether weddings, birthdays, babies, or holidays, with regularity. We typically run very standard office hours from 8:30-4:30. We even vacation together, and our company has been known to bless families with incredible generosity along the way.
Our growth has created the need for this position, as our company continues to expand year after year. Much of that growth and success can be attributed to the advancement and development of our software. We are looking for a developer familiar with LAMP environments that also has at least 2 years of overall front-end experience. Experience with small group programming is essential, as you will be joining a team that has been together for 5 years. You would be responsible for usability development and design for our web app. It’s essential that you have strong experience in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, along with an interest in learning PHP and MySQL. This position also requires that you be an active part of creating and implementing solutions, rather than simply being an invisible cog in a machine that doesn’t interact with end users.
