Description
Our client, an International Manufacturing Company is seeking an US Human Resource Director to lead all aspects of Human Resources for several facilities throughout the US.
Responsibilities
• Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the North American organization
• Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
• Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
• Work with various locations within the North American region to assess their hiring needs and manage the recruitment and selection process.
• Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
• Support organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
• Work with various managers across all locations to prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
• Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
• Standardizes and Implements employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids along with the Regional Controller; and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
• Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records etc.
• Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
• Consolidates and retains historical human resource records for all US companies by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
• Remotely manages human resource staff at the California locations and others, as needed.
Requirements
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree minimum, preferable in Human Resource management or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in the area human resource management
• Must have HR experience with industrial and manufacturing companies with multiple facilities in the US.
• Must have HR experience with a minimum employee base of 250 people.
• Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
• Experience working with payroll systems
• Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
• Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
• Knowledgeable of labor law and HR best practices
• Domestic travel up to 25%
