The Occupational Health Regional Manager – RN is responsible for managing, and leadership for, support staff within their region as well as clinical and financial performance. Promotes and encourages the services of Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS), focuses on education and consulting in areas of health promotion, business health services and prevention of illness and injury, and collaborates with ancillary clinical departments and account executives to establish and maintain business growth with employers and industries. Assesses employer needs, program development and delivery of health and safety services. Serves as primary liaison between the injured patients/worker, employers, workman’s compensation representatives and health care providers. Participates in contract negotiation and implementation for Occupational Health services. Case Management to include assistance with forms processing on behalf of the injured worker, provider or employer to include: return to work forms, FMLA Disability or other as requested. The skills and functions of the manager are both managerial as well as clinical nursing practice based.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing required.
Preferred/Optional: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN).
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Two years recent clinical nursing experience in clinical setting.
Preferred/Optional: 4 years clinical experience. Experience with Workmen’s Compensation, Employee Health, Medical Surveillance, and/or Certified Occupational Health Nurse. Urgent Care and Emergency Room experience. Demonstrated leadership abilities with written and verbal communication skills.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required with an acceptable record and dependable vehicle for travel.
Preferred/Optional: Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist (COHN-S). Certified Occupational hearing Conservationist. OSHA Basic and Advanced Case management or related course. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
