Full Job Description
We are seeking an entry level Local Government Affairs associate to support us in the daily monitoring and research of local government activities. The position requires a comprehension of local government processes and an ability to understand, analyze and summarize local legislative issues.
Monitor local legislation as it is introduced and moves through the legislative process.
Read and summarize a large amount of legislation.
Prepare written reports to, and communicate with, clients about local government activities.
Inform clients of relevant action on prioritized local legislation of interest in a proprietary database.
Work quickly and accurately with the ability to remain focused during repetitious work.
Research public policy issues, both through interviews with policymakers and staff and the Internet.
Manage working knowledge of local government resources and information, client information and policy trends.
