Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program.
Assist with employment procedures as needed including correspondence with the staffing agency to schedule interviews and ensure that necessary paperwork and pre-employment testing has been completed. Assist in maintaining employee files.
Conduct new hire orientations: ensure that all necessary paperwork is complete, explain company policies and safety rules and regulations, outline available benefits, verify employment eligibility, distribute employee handbook, indicate key areas in the facility (break areas, storm shelters, eye wash stations, etc.), and answer questions.
Assist with benefits program to include: participating in meetings regarding changes in benefits, schedule and help conduct meetings to inform employees of policy changes, schedule individual employee meetings for open enrollment, address employee questions and concerns, ensure that forms and notifications have been distributed, completed, and filed. Assist the HR Manager with Workers Compensation claims as needed.
Document and maintain personnel records utilizing the HRIS system for data entry and updates. Enter new employees and update existing employee records to capture training, employee interactions, emergency contact information, I-9 certification, and work assignments.
Ensure the timely completion of bi-weekly payroll
Keep current on payroll laws, rules, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws.
Assist with performance appraisal process. Provide any supporting documentation or reports (attendance, work history, interactions, etc.) to supervisors and managers to help them accurately assess employee performance.
Work to communicate effectively and respond timely and accurately to employee suggestions and complaints, and be available to assist employees with any human relations questions or needs. Promote a positive atmosphere; actively re-enforcing the importance of the welfare and morale of TEAM employees.
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, and to be able to utilize TEAM’s HR database UKG, and other computer programs as business needs require.
Assist with committees and events, and perform other tasks as needed and/or assigned.
Education & Experience:
Two-year degree from a college or technical school, two to four years related experience and/or training, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively to a diverse group of people. Ability to read and interpret documents and reports that pertain to safety rules and regulations, operating instructions, procedures manuals, and legal compliance. Ability to write routine reports and compose professional business correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, and to analyze mathematical data to ensure accuracy of all payroll functions.
Ability to effectively solve problems. Ability to address unorthodox situations and/or problems where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, or walk 100% of shift. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Quality of work and cleanliness of work station must conform to TEAM Industries – Andrews standards. Employee must be able to function within a teamwork oriented environment and interact favorably with fellow employees. The normal work day (eight and one half hours) will include one half hour for lunch and two ten minutes breaks.
