SCOPE OF WORK: Monitors the receipt, storage, distribution, ordering of license plates, decals and supplies in the Department of Safety Warehouse.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Monitors inventory levels of materials on hand to ensure accurate records and to avoid supply shortages or overages. Performs periodic inventory counts of all inventory items and communicates results to the supervisor.
Assists with ordering of supplies by assessing current supplies and reporting procurement needs to supervisors. Receives and inspects plates and decals from vendor and determines placement within the warehouse.
Prepares inventory of plates, decals and forms to be distributed out of the warehouse and transported to municipal agents and sub stations. Coordinates the plate room courier route for statewide delivery.
Tracks the distribution of items including plates, decals and paper temporary plates. Documents transfers of all plate types by creating customer receipts and transfer sheets.
Performs data entry of inventory information within the VISION system to accurately create and maintain record of supplies for the warehouse.
Performs general research to assess delivery tracking information to ensure accurate delivery and inventory of plates and decals.
Operates truck and warehouse equipment to do routine tasks related to receiving and distributing supplies. Performs minor repairs to warehouse equipment as needed.
Communicates with Department of Corrections to facilitate and follow up on emergency plate orders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency credential. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Two years of experience in inventory control or stock record keeping, one year of which shall have been in a supervisory/monitoring capacity.
License/Certification: Must possess a valid driver’s license if required to deliver equipment and supplies to inter-department or district offices.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Selected candidate will undergo a fingerprint based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information.
