Provides direction and leadership for care delivery in OR Scheduling/Billing/Pre-admit, Outpatient Surgery, PACU, and DHC areas. Has 24 hour accountability. Plans and implements nursing budgets, monitors nursing productivity reports and collaborates with other leaders to facilitate favorable financial performance. Maintains current knowledge of regulatory standards and evidence based practices for scope of care, and ensures compliance. Manages staff in the respective unit(s) and plays an integral role in departmental operations, including but not limited to; recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, promoting, discharging, assigning work, evaluating, rewarding, and disciplining. Actively supports and participates in shared governance. Assists staff in the respective clinical area as needed. Provides high quality care to the following patient populations: Patient of any age undergoing surgical or endoscopic procedures in the following specialties: ENT, General, Orthopedics to include Spine, Podiatry, Dental/Oral surgery, Pain Management, Ophthalmology, Urology, OB/Gynecology, Vascular, and Digestive Health
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Minimum of 5 years experience in nursing practice, prefer leadership experience
Proficiency in clinical decision making and critical thinking skills
Proficiency in computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, and Excel) preferred
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
Prior Cerner experience preferred
Health care experience in Surgical Services or Education preferred
