Position Overview:

The Operations Agent (Evening) has high visibility, is the primary contact for designated customers, and responsible for the outcome of assigned projects including customer service, tracking, routing, problem resolution, vendor compliance and customer interaction.

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday – 11.30am-8pm

What You Will Be Doing Day-to-Day:

• Tracking and tracing shipments on a daily basis. Track overhead shipments daily and route accordingly. Notes and Correct STATUS codes must be updated in AIT’s system on all shipments.
• Troubleshoot and overcoming operational challenges
• Quoting internal and external customers
• Assisting local sales and domestic offices with air, ground and sea freight issues
• Work with off-site 3PL warehouse(s) and coordinate cross-dock and outbound transport
• Assist drivers loading/unloading in warehouse
• Adhering to TSA and other government regulatory compliance standards with regards to booking, routing of all air, ground and sea cargo
• Routing freight across multiple transportation modes and services
• Assist with all operational requirements assigned by management
• Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary.

Other Skills We Hope to See:

• Must have 3 years previous Freight Forwarding experience. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, AS400 experience helpful, but not required.
• SAP, AS400 & CargoWise Experience is Preferred
• High School diploma and/or GED required
• Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred in business, supply chain, logistics, transportation management preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, AS400 experience preferred, but not required
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written – proactively communicating to clients is part of our Core Value of earning our customers’ trust.
• Problem Solver to identify issues of varying complexity and work to find effective solutions to satisfy our customers’ needs.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage the volume of customer shipments and contacts.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
• Ability to calculate freight rates and amounts such percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
