The LFS Group is looking for an experienced Human Resources & Payroll Specialist! This is a newly created role to support the quickly growing human resource needs of the company.
Job Responsibilities:
· Human Resources Activities
· Onboarding new employees ensuring all necessary and required documentation is obtained prior to first day of employment.
· Develop and deliver new employee orientation training.
· Process weekly payroll and related payroll taxes for both union and nonunion entities.
· Record cash transactions related to payroll.
· File necessary quarterly payroll reports for all required states.
· Prepare required year-end wage reporting such as W-2s and ACA filing, as necessary.
· Update/create employee payroll setups as needed to maintain personnel records.
· Offboarding terminated employees.
· Review and maintain employee job descriptions ensuring information is accurate.
· Review and maintain corporate handbook to ensure all corporate policies and government requirements are accurately documented.
· Manage corporate drug testing program.
· Manage and track all required employee training and certifications.
· Employment Recruiting
· Maintain company applicant tracking system with current open positions.
· Review applicants to determine potential hires.
· Complete initial applicant screening and make recommendations to hiring managers.
· Assist hiring managers with hiring decisions.
· Benefit Management
· Maintain employee benefits for initial enrollment, open enrollment and changes due to qualifying events.
· Work with CFO to obtain benefit renewal proposals and make recommendations for corporate benefit program.
· Review monthly invoices to ensure accuracy of billing information.
· Maintain employee information in company HRM system.
· Reconcile employee payroll benefit information to ensure accuracy of deductions and fringe benefits.
· Review and maintain employee handbook
· Submit required scorecards for completion by respective manager based on company requirements.
· Compile, summarize and analyze scorecard results to present to employee and supervisors.
· Manage initial employment and annual review process for all employees.
· Address any employee performance issues ensuring a proper corrective action process is communicated.
· Documentation of processes and procedures; create process guides and manuals as needed.
· Special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements:
· Proven experience processing in-house, multi-state payroll for both union and non-union employees
· Proven experience as payroll specialist or payroll manager
· Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
· Very good federal and state knowledge of legislation and regulations
· Proficient in MS Office
· Prior experience processing payroll with Sage 300 CRE is a definite plus
· Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
· Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
· Excellent communication skills
· Certification like PHR and SPHR is a plus
