Responsible for the protection of lives and property by performing skilled, specialized work of varied difficulty combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires; working in hazardous, toxic environments; performing rescue/emergency medical and disaster relief services. Duties often require the performance of hazardous tasks under emergency conditions which may involve extreme physical exertion in heat, smoke, and other hazardous and toxic environments. Work is performed as a member of a team and supervised by a superior officer. (Annual Hours = 2,616)
