The HR Generalist’s duties include the following:
Manage employee information and permanent employee file in HRIS
Manage the onboarding, separation, wage/job change, and performance evaluation process in HRIS, processing employee changes and entries when necessary
Assist employees in utilizing the self-service module of HRIS, including creating key stroke guides, check lists, and conducting training when needed
Work with internal recruiter to ensure candidate sourcing, offer submittal, offer acceptance, and onboarding process runs smoothly and efficiently
Coordinate pre-hire screening such as drug screens, background checks, and physicals
Participate and conduct new hire orientation, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience
Register, document, and maintain apprentice school registration, recording all continuing education programs and applicable professional licenses and certifications
Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
Manage employment verifications and unemployment notices, attending hearings when needed
Assist in the development and continuous improvement of HR processes by identifying needs and participating in initiative planning sessions
Utilize HRIS and other software programs to generate reports, compile data, and conduct audits
Conduct employee retention and employee exit interviews to track and trend employee retention and turnover data
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualified candidates should have at least 3 years of prior HR related experience. Must have a solid understanding of HR standard practices. PHR or SHRM-CP preferred. Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite required, including above average Excel skills.
