DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
The Hospital Accounting Department is responsible for providing internal financial support services for the administration and operations of Cambridge Health Alliance.
Summary:
Senior accountant is responsible for contributing to the overall production of monthly financial statements and the annual audited financial statements, including monthly entries and reconciliations, as well as internal reports and monthly reports to Senior leaders and the finance committee.
Responsibilities:
Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly journal entries for the three hospital entities.
Responsible for preparing all Hospital Network analyses with the exception of Cash and Investments and Fixed Assets and Capital Leases.
This position prepares analyses that are healthcare industry specific including Accounts Receivable and Contractual allowance analyses, and is also responsible for preparing third party settlement analysis.
This position is a Senior level position and responsibilities include developing staff Accountants.
Ability to analyze data and clearly present in meetings. Must have a strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and be able to research Accounting guidance to ensure proper Accounting for transactions.
Responsibilities include communicating effectively with the auditors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA/MBA preferred . Equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
Work Experience:
Bachelor degree in Accounting with 6+ years experience in general accounting, CPA/MBA preferred Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word and Access, Infor and Kaufman Hall a plus.
