Ascendo Resources Hiring for Staff Accountant (Entry Level) Job at Remote Full Time

The Staff Accountant performs staff level accounting duties in support of the accounting, administrative, and financial planning duties of the business’ corporate accounting group. Responsibilities include completing journal entries, account reconciliations and management reports required to complete the monthly financial close. Leads the documentation of financial processes, identifying key controls, and ensuring the Company has effective internal controls over financial reporting. Additional financial projects will be assigned as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform recurring procedures related to the month-end close process, including performing calculations and account reconciliation, preparing journal entries, and preparing financial reports.
• Perform root-cause analysis to identify sources of errors and issues when encountered.
• Design new controls and procedures to prevent errors and issues, including teaming with other members of Accounting as well as cross-functionally with FP&A, IT, and Operations teams.
• Analyze monthly financial results, including investigation into budget/forecast vs. actual results.
• Coordinate and communicate with international team members on various accounting matters.
• Assist with various general accounting projects that may arise during the year such as accounting for business combinations and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
• Support the consolidated global audit, international statutory audits, and income tax filings.
• Perform Microsoft Excel analysis to respond to ad hoc requests from management.

What We’re Looking For

• 0-2 years of professional work experience. Previous accounting or finance internship preferred.
• Strong data analysis and Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of US GAAP.
• Detail-oriented professional with a strong desire to learn.
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Self-starter with a continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to think outside the box.

Bonus Points

• Experience with finance projects, business combinations, or system integrations.
• CPA or pursuit of becoming a CPA.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $63,016.00 – $93,981.00 per year
