A rare opportunity has arisen for a driven HR Professional with a keen interest in Mental Health and its impact on the next generation. As Kooth’s US People Manager you will play an instrumental role in shaping the future of our US business and making sure we continue to cultivate our culture and values as we go through rapid growth. You will help hire and empower the best team we can possibly get, and develop and embed strategies, policies and processes to enable our team to seamlessly deliver the best work they are capable of. You will lead Kooth to be the best place to work and grow in our industry. This role will require a hands-on individual, passionate about people, their development and their career.
You will be responsible for the overall functions of the Human Resource Department including interviewing and hiring staff, direct onboarding/offboarding activities of employees, oversight of benefits, employee retention, compliance, training, and development and enforcement of company policies and practices. The successful candidate needs to be able to thrive in an entrepreneurial start up environment and take initiative to evaluate existing policies and procedures and/or develop those that don’t exist.
Kooth is a fast-growing business with a social purpose. After 20 years of successful services in the UK, Kooth is rapidly expanding in the United States. Our mission is to provide welcoming and effective digital mental health support to students and adults proactively.
Using the collective insight from nearly 1 million hours of professional intervention we guide individuals to three areas of evidenced-based support: self-guided, community/peer interactions, and chat-based counseling provided by licensed counselors. These areas of assistance are designed to match individual’s current wants, needs, and goals as well as identify and refer to higher level of care when needed.

Management
In partnership with senior management, identify organizational Human Resources needs, present recommendations and implement outcomes
Design and implement HR & People strategies, processes and policies
Partner with management to support day-to-day HR advice, guidance and training to everyone across the company
Drive the delivery of major organisational change projects
Manage the following functions: Human Resources, Office Administration, and some Safety & Health compliance.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs

Strengthen our induction, engagement and retention activities
Oversee onboarding plans and processes
Talent Acquisition
Create an innovative approach to company branding to attract the best talent in the market
Manage the recruiting process and efforts to attract the industry’s best and brightest candidates; assess needs, oversee related processes, prepare documents, and integrate staff.
Performance Management
Develop career development paths for employees, and oversee the implementation of performance management throughout the company
Employee Relations
Address grievances, deal with termination, manage occupational health matters
Oversee our rewards and benefits programmes, constantly striving for a competitive edge in the market and aligning rewards with company ambitions
Provide guidance to senior management on HR related matters
Reward
Direct the management of employee benefit programs including plan design, renewals, open enrollment process, general communication, compliance, and related documentation and inquiries
Develop and manage compensation planning and a pay for performance structure. Participate in and gather wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rates and benefits

Previous experience of setting up a People Function
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Complete understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
Familiarity with Mental Health industries preferred
Proficient with G-Suite
