SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Application Development Specialist position is a key team member of the Operations team at PaySchools. Focusing on application defects; diagnosing issues as a defect or enhancement. If defect correcting issue and checking in for release. This position reports to the VP of Operations.
The primary function of this position is to focus on application defects; functioning as the liaison between the support team and the development team. The individual must be able work across the multiple software platforms offered by PaySchools. The individual must have PaySchools product knowledge as outlined below or equivalent industry knowledge. An employee in this role should be a self-starter and possess the distinct ability to research and problem solve. This employee needs strong working knowledge of SQL databases, understanding complex data flow, and be able to communicate between technical and non-technical resources. The employee should also have the skill set to manage time and workload effectively.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research and resolve escalated support application/database defects.
Research and resolve code related support issue.
Leverage development SME’s when necessary.
Thoroughly test resolved issues in preparation for release.
Correct and submit code fixes to release branch.
Ensure thorough research and sufficient detail provided for tickets that need escalated to development team.
Provide guidance to support team on the necessary information needed when submitting escalated support tickets.
Train support team on resolution of issues applicable to help control number of escalated tickets.
Evaluate ongoing support issues and look for ways to suggest preventative measures.
Participate in development team meetings.
Others task as directed by the VP of Operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college required or 3 Years of applicable technical knowledge as outlined below in the desired skills.

Excellent written and verbal skills.
Strong Organization skills.
Ability to prioritize and use time effectively.
High Level of SQL Knowledge.
Ability to create SQL scripts and queries.
Ability to understand and correct code.
Ability to understand and support integrations
Proficient in PaySchools suite of products.
Proficient with backend and source code of PaySchools Products
Ability to work individually.
Ability to work in group setting.
Contribute to a positive team environment.
