We provide a community of care to those who are involved in the correctional/rehabilitative life cycle. An affiliate of Vant4ge, we are Persevere, a national non-profit organization providing a coding education program that not only teaches inmates and parolees how to code, but also provides job search and job placement services, instruction in the soft skills necessary for the work environment, life skills education, mentoring support and entrepreneurial training for forming their own businesses and marketing their coding services to companies nationwide.
Job Overview
The Human Resources Coordinator for Recruiting and Onboarding will be thoroughly committed to the Persevere mission. The purpose of this role is to recruit and onboard company positions. This is a full time, salaried, overtime-exempt, remote position, preferably located in the state of Tennessee. Expected salary will be between $50,000 and $55,000 per year plus outstanding benefits. The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide general HR services in addition to recruiting and demonstrated ability to grow within the Human Resources field. This position requires the ability to pass a reference check and a drug screen.
Job Responsibilities
Recruiting:
Establish qualification requirements and terms and conditions of employment with managers
Formulate or update job descriptions and post in the applicant tracking system and on other relevance sites
Screen applicants to create a shortlist of qualified candidates
Schedule interviews for candidates on the shortlist and maintain a database on employees for future vacancies
Mediate between candidates and hiring managers
Maintain a database on hiring plans and strategies
Close out postings
Onboarding:
Create and update digital employee files
Craft and send emails with relevant onboarding information
Craft and send employment documents for electronic signature
Complete reference checks and background checks as required per position
Submit tickets for hardware and software
Update the Human Resources Information System
Update the Organizational Chart, Contact List and other relevant documents
Schedule first week meetings with relevant stakeholders
Conduct onboard meetings to ensure new employees are ready to begin working
Review systems, policy and procedure
Present required training
Manage the I9 process and other documentation
Review benefits and the enrollment process
Communicate the new hire to the organization
General:
Inform HR policies to ensure that fair employment practices are implemented
Create and update Standard Operating Procedures
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration with an Human Resources concentration or relevant work experience
Demonstrated successful experience in recruitment
Proven ability to source and identify qualified candidates for open positions
