Middle Georgia Regional Commission is seeking to fill the position of Senior Government Services Specialist. This position is responsible for assistance to local governments in areas of community planning, economic development, hazard mitigation, personnel management, environmental issues, transportation, and grant preparation and administration. This is a professional position that engages in local government issues involving administration, project management, and developing innovative solutions in coordination with member governments. It involves the application of considerable knowledge, research, and planning in matters of government, public administration, urban design, historic preservation, transportation, housing, economics, and any related matters. This position requires a talented individual who can engage collaboratively with local governments in a professional, resourceful, trustworthy, accountable, efficient, and innovative manner.
Qualified applicants should, at a minimum, have a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning or a related field from an accredited college or university plus two to three years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A master’s degree in Public Administration, Public Policy or Urban Planning is preferred. Knowledge or experience in transportation planning, historic preservation, or mobility management is a plus.

Middle Georgia Regional Commission provides services to 11 counties and 20 cities in middle Georgia through its office located in Macon, Georgia.
