About the HR Generalist:
The Sedalia Generalist leads the implementation of Duke’s human resources practices and objectives for the Sedalia facility to provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes Duke’s Values. Serves as a business partner to Operations Managers, Supervisors, and Leads, and may periodically provide support to other Functional management. Works closely with other HR/Safety team members as well as management and employees at the Sedalia location to ensure HR needs are met at all levels. Has direct responsibility for key HR Competitive capabilities such as engagement/employee relations, compensation and employee development.
Provides guidance, process development and management, advice and counsel to managers, supervisors, exempt and non-exempt employees on human resources matters with infrequent supervision. Serves as the point of contact for a broad array of employee relations and HR subject matter areas and facilitates the resolution of employee concerns. Partners closely with the HR Services team to ensure employee records are maintained in the company Human Resources information System (HRIS) and third-party providers.
As the Generalist, you would:
Be the main point of contact for employee relations matters
Assist in the development, interpretation and coordinator of HR policies and programs
Partner with management to develop and maintain updated job descriptions and competitive compensation practices
Support front line supervisors in the development of their team members, partner and advise in the performance review process and development action plans
Keep the communication channels open with employees and supervisors
Lead or support training and development initiatives
Support the development of an employee-oriented culture that creates high levels of engagement and aligned with Lean principles
Support special projects
Basic qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent work experience in related HRM discipline and certifications will be considered – such as the SPHR Certification
Experience with providing strong employee relations support
Leave management experience a plus; experience with FMLA and ADA
Strong prioritization skills, ability to manage shifting priorities
Salary $55,000 – $70,000
